1) For the column nest with ear plate structure at the lower end, selecting split forging and increasing transition arc can reduce the production difficulty and improve the service life of the die.
2) The forged column socket has better comprehensive mechanical properties and better quality than the cast column socket, which is more suitable for the use of hydraulic support under severe working conditions.
3) The weldability of 27SiMn steel, 27CrNiMo steel, 30CrMo steel, 42CrMo steel and ZG30Cr06A is poor. Preheating is required before welding and slow cooling treatment is required after welding. The strength of the above materials is high, but the toughness of 27CrNiMo steel is better, and it is more suitable for the hydraulic support column socket which is used in heavy resistance and harsh working conditions.
4) The blank of the forged column socket shall be rolled or forged round steel, so that the finished column socket will have enough forging ratio, which will help improve the product quality while ensuring the comprehensive mechanical properties.
The column sockets of most hydraulic support products at home and abroad are produced by casting technology. With the improvement of the user’s requirements for the support capacity of the hydraulic support, the requirements for the comprehensive performance and manufacturing quality of the column sockets are becoming more and more stringent. When some high-end hydraulic supports are in service, the column sockets made of ZG30Cr06A become vulnerable parts, which has brought a negative impact on the hydraulic support manufacturers and miners.
