1.Experimental device
This experiment is carried out on the self-made hydraulic simulation test-bed in the laboratory. The cast bucket tooth model used in the experiment is made of plexiglass according to the actual casting bucket tooth size in the ratio of 1:1. The tooth tip is 250mm high and 160mm wide, and the flat conical tooth handle is 200mm high.
2.Experimental method
(1) Cast steel part: add a small amount of pigment to the room temperature water to make the liquid water light red as “liquid steel”. The viscosity is V1 = 0.001cm2/s. When “liquid steel” is injected, the (mixed) state of “liquid steel” flowing into the “liquid iron” (water) first injected into the tooth tip can be clearly seen.
(2) Cast iron part: three liquids with different viscosities are selected to replace it.
① The viscosity of water at room temperature is V1.
② Polyacrylamide ammonium solution with concentration of 20% (room temperature) and viscosity of v2.
③ Polyacrylamide ammonium solution with concentration of 40% (room temperature) and viscosity of v3.
V3 > V2 > v1. The terms “molten steel” and “molten iron” are used to replace the simulated fluid mentioned.
(3) Liquid level control of molten iron at the tip of casting bucket teeth.
The experiment is divided into two cases: ① when the liquid level is high, that is, the liquid iron level reaches the lower surface of the flange; ② When the liquid level is low, that is, the liquid iron level is about 30mm lower than the lower surface of the flange.
