The investment casting for stainless steel ball valves has a containment size of 186 mm × 186 mm × 120mm, the average thickness of the two flange surfaces is 12.5mm. The material is 304 stainless steel. Establish a three-dimensional model of a 304 stainless steel ball valve in SolidWorks software, as shown in the figure.
Using a traditional pouring system, the model file of the stainless steel ball valve was imported into the Mesh module of ProCAST software for grid quality inspection. The global grid unit size was set to 4, generating 116162 face grids. After adding a 6mm shell, 666312 individual grids were generated based on the face grids.
