Because the stress state of tractor track shoe is complex and the working conditions have a great influence, the damage of tractor track shoe is the result of the comprehensive action of several different wear types. In the microscopic analysis of the worn parts of tractor track shoes, the following main wear characteristics can be observed:
- Chiseling – cutting metal due to sharp abrasives
- Furrow – extrude metal due to abrasive pressure and sliding
- Rolling deformation
- Transverse crack
- Pit peeling
- Corrosion crack
These defects are consistent with the working conditions of tractor track shoes. It is related to material characteristics, soil, medium type, stress condition of wear parts and other factors. From the mechanism analysis, it almost includes various main wear types such as abrasive wear, fatigue wear and corrosion wear. Sometimes the characteristics of several wear types can be seen at the same time in one photo. However, in the actual analysis, it can be determined that the problem of abrasive wear is more prominent in the sand zone, the morphology of furrow is obvious, and the morphology of cracks, pits and corrosion products is more prominent in the paddy field area. For each wear part, the rolling deformation of the runway and the furrow of the tooth claw are obvious. The influence of different materials on wear characteristics is not obvious, so it needs to be further studied.
