In terms of lost foam casting for mass production, it can be divided into two categories according to the current situation in China:

The first type is the lost foam casting production line that has been built (in production or pilot production):
(a) Closed loop (mechanized or semi-automatic) production line. (1) The production line of Changchun Institute of Optics and precision machinery pilot plant was built in 1982 and put into trial production in the late 1980s. Since the early 1990s, it has produced about 300-600 tons of cast iron and steel castings every year. (2) The production line of Beijing Tongxian Songzhuang foundry was put into trial production in 1992, with a production capacity of 400 tons / year of iron castings. It is mainly used for mass production of thin-walled pipe joints, thin-walled shells and other export castings. (3) At the end of 1993, a production line with a production capacity of 1500 tons / year was built in Chongzhou nonferrous Precision Foundry, which was put into trial production in early 1994. (4) At the end of 1991, Jianglu Machinery Factory built a production line with a production capacity of 1000 tons / year, and has tried to produce several castings such as high manganese steel crawler shoes. (5) Chifeng gas pipe fittings factory built a production line with a production capacity of about 1000 tons / year in 1992, and has trial produced several iron castings.
(b) Simple production line (straight-line or single machine). There are mainly Dunhua Forestry Bureau Machinery Factory, Sichuan Pingshan Precision Foundry, Sichuan Nanpu machinery factory, Ningxia northwest coal machinery factory, Wuxi Yongxin lost foam casting factory, Pingdingshan first building materials factory, Fuzhou diesel engine factory, etc.
The second type is the imported lost foam casting production line:
(1) Changchun No.1 Automobile Factory spent 750000 US dollars to purchase the pre foaming machine, molding machine, vibrating table and EPS foaming molding mold of aluminum alloy of air inlet pipe from Fukang company of the United States, and adopted the coating of Ashland company of the United States. After debugging at the beginning of 1994, remarkable results have been achieved. The lost foam castings are light in weight, smooth in surface, accurate in size, and the bench test shows that the fuel consumption has decreased significantly. The factory has been put into mass production and started the localization of raw materials and coatings.
(2) Changsha automobile engine factory and Italy’s fata company identified the contract, and spent millions of dollars to introduce cast iron cylinder block and cylinder head production lines (some domestic supporting). The above factories are the backbone units of lost foam casting production in China, and their product quality and quantity are in the forefront of the country.
