At the same time, the teaching content of spiral casting is optimized by consulting the teaching materials in the early stage and improving the teaching content of spiral casting; Combined with sand casting simulation, understand the whole process of sand casting system. Through the improvement of the above teaching contents and the renewal of the teaching mode, on the one hand, it can stimulate students’ interest in learning, on the other hand, it also has a deeper understanding and more comprehensive understanding of sand casting.
1.Spiral experiment of alloy fluidity
Through the addition of alloy fluidity spiral experiment, more in-depth study of sand casting related knowledge. The experiment takes different pouring temperature, pouring speed and mold conditions as the premise, casts two types of alloys (ZL101 and Al Si eutectic alloy respectively), records the solidification process of the two alloys by using the solidification curve thermometer, and finally measures the length of the spiral sand casting. Through the spiral experiment teaching of alloy fluidity, we can understand the concepts of sand casting alloy fluidity and filling ability in simple terms, and have a more intuitive understanding of the factors affecting the filling ability of sand casting alloy. Figure 1a-b shows the single spiral sand castings cast by metal mold and sand castings cast by sand mold under different pouring temperature and pouring speed.
2.Simulation of sand casting
In order to have a relatively complete and systematic understanding of sand casting, a virtual simulation teaching module of sand casting is added. Combining the actual casting and casting virtual simulation, the filling and solidification process can be predicted through the virtual simulation software, and the simulation results of a series of casting processes such as possible sand casting defects and temperature changes in solidification stage can be displayed. This combination of simulation experiment and field practice has produced a great visual impact, has a certain understanding of the latest sand casting technology, and has a preliminary systematic understanding of the whole process of sand casting, and has been improved to a certain extent in theoretical knowledge and practical ability, It can effectively improve the practical ability and innovation ability.
