Development of lost foam casting in China

In recent years, lost foam casting has developed rapidly in China, and the development results are also gratifying. Among them, Hongjinlong foundry machinery factory in Kunming, Yunnan Province is relatively advanced in all aspects, and its products have been exported to Malaysia and other neighboring countries. In addition, Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of science and technology and other colleges and universities have also made valuable contributions to the development of lost foam casting industry. The R & D and manufacturing level of the equipment is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

(1) Development of white area equipment: the pre delivery machine has been greatly improved. A lot of work has been done in the design of appearance and structure, the improvement of foaming principle and the improvement of testing means. The performance of foaming machine has been greatly provided, which can basically meet the use requirements. With the improvement of automation level and its application in domestic mold making, the automation level of domestic mold making machine has also been significantly improved, and the production efficiency of mold making and the labor intensity of workers have been greatly improved. However, the filling mode and energy distribution need to be further improved. Some work has also been done on the gluing machine, but the gluing level and ability of complex die need to be improved and improved. In terms of coating, the mechanization level is low, the detection means are imperfect, and the dirty, disordered and poor situation of the coating department has not been significantly improved; Lack of paint recycling equipment and devices. At present, some domestic enterprises use stainless steel high-speed and low-speed mixing containers combined with Kawasaki manipulator to paint complex modules, but they do not design reasonable and accurate fixtures because they do not understand the performance of the coating, and because the running track of the manipulator is unreasonable, they use the manipulator to invade and paint when they do not have a good grasp of the cavity structure of the module itself, resulting in the expansion and deformation of the module during the invasion and coating, Uneven adhesion of surface coating and serious whitening of mold cavity.

(2) Development of black area equipment: the vibrating table has made great improvement and breakthrough, and has been significantly improved in both vibrating principle and control means. It is basically close to the design concept of foreign advanced equipment, but there is still a certain gap in details and control. The design and manufacturing capacity of sand cooler have also been greatly improved. Without considering too many pits, it can meet the requirements of sand cooling treatment of molding line. The design and manufacturing capacity of rain and sand adding, vibration conveying and other equipment have been significantly improved. The design and implementation ability of automation has been greatly improved. The design and manufacturing level of automatic pouring machine has been close to the advanced level of foreign countries. The design concept of the whole molding line has changed greatly, the wiring is more reasonable and the operation is more reliable.

(3) Development of process level: the process level is mainly reflected in the batch production process of engine cylinder block and cylinder head castings and the production process of highly difficult wear-resistant and heat-resistant castings.
