Effect of pouring speed on insufficient pouring defects of investment casting

Unreasonable pouring speed setting of investment casting will also produce insufficient pouring defects. In order to determine the reasonable pouring speed, according to the principle of control variable method, a variety of pouring speed analysis schemes are set for 1560 ℃ and 1600 ℃ pouring temperatures respectively. The momentum and decoupling analysis method is used to simulate the different analysis schemes shown in the table. The specific scheme setting and analysis results are described in the table.

Pouring temperature / ℃0.2m·s0.3m·s0.4m·s0.5m·s0.6m·s
1560/Obvious cold septumObvious cold septumSlight cold shutNo cold insulation
1600Obvious cold septumSlight cold shutNo cold insulationNo cold insulation/

According to the results in the table, it can be seen that when the pouring temperature of investment casting steel is 1560 ℃ and the pouring speed is ≤ 0.5 m / s, the investment casting steel will produce different degrees of cold insulation; When the pouring temperature is 1600 ℃ and the pouring speed is ≤ 0.3 M / s, the investment casting steel will produce different degrees of cold insulation. Without considering the gas model, properly increasing the pouring speed will reduce the risk of insufficient pouring of investment casting steel. However, if the pouring speed is too high, not only the splash phenomenon will occur and the “iron bean” defect will be produced, but also the gas in the mold cavity will not be discharged in time, and the gas pressure will increase to produce the defect of insufficient pouring. Combined with the actual pouring situation, the reasonable pouring temperature of the product is more than 1580 ℃, and the reasonable pouring speed is 0.4 ~ 0.5 m / s.
