Hot side riser technology of iron castings

The hot side riser process follows the principle of sequential solidification and meets the requirements of large riser technology. It mainly emphasizes that the feeding range of the riser should be large, so as to cover all the areas that need feeding. In practical production, hot side riser technology is mainly used for casting small cylinder block iron castings. The shape of hot side riser is generally rectangular, square and long strip. The relationship between riser diameter (unit: mm), riser height (unit: mm), number of risers, width of riser neck (unit: mm), thickness of riser neck (unit: mm) and mass of cylinder block iron castings (unit: kg) were counted.

In the actual casting production of cylinder block iron castings, the shape of side riser is generally cylindrical. Taking the casting mass (unit: kg) as the classification standard, the selection of diameter D (unit: mm) is related to the wall thickness t (unit: mm), that is, d = KT.

The ratio coefficient β of riser height to diameter is between 0.92 and 1.11

The shape of riser neck is flat square or inverted trapezoid. In practice, the relationship between the upper bottom a and the lower bottom B of the inverted trapezoidal riser neck is a = (1.1 ~ 1.2) B. The thickness e (unit: mm), width ω (unit: mm), length L (unit: mm) and casting wall thickness (unit: mm) and casting mass (unit: kg) of flat square riser neck.

The statistical relationship between the cross-sectional area ratio of gating system and the mass (unit: kg) of the hot side riser process. The gating system is mostly open.
