Modeling design of mud pump body in sand casting

It is necessary to establish an effective three-dimensional model when using ProCAST to analyze the filling process of sand casting gating system of mud pump body. Therefore, the three-dimensional solid modeling design is carried out according to the two-dimensional CAD drawings of casting mud pump body and the technical requirements of casting production. The shape of the mud pump body in sand casting is very complex. The volute part of the pump body in sand casting is a U-shaped surface with shrinking section, and the U-shaped surface at the pump tail intersects with the cylindrical surface, so the shape is more complex.

The modeling module of ProCAST software is relatively simple and can not complete the modeling design of sand casting mud pump body, which is a complex shape entity. Therefore, more professional creo3 is selected for the modeling design of sand casting mud pump body.

Firstly, use the scanning and mixing command to complete the surface design of the volute part of the sand casting pump body, then use the scanning, stretching, boundary mixing and other commands to complete the surface design of the pump tail part, and finally use the filler materialization function to complete the solid modeling design of the sand casting mud pump body, as shown in the figure. Using creo3 0 respectively complete the three-dimensional solid modeling of sand casting mud pump body, gating system and sand mold, then assemble the modeled entities to make them a complete assembly, and finally export the three-dimensional model in step format.
