Reducing the carburization of lost foam casting steel castings

The measures and methods to reduce the carburization of lost foam casting steel castings mainly include the following aspects:

(1) Under the condition of ensuring pattern strength and surface roughness of lost foam casting steel castings, low-density foam materials are used to make patterns to reduce the carbon content of patterns. While reducing the amount of carbon addition, reducing the gas generation is conducive to the filling of liquid metal, but it will increase the tendency of box collapse.

(2) The pattern is made of materials with low carbon content. The pattern originally made of high-density EPS is changed to ordinary EPS or the foam pattern is made of epm-ma, stmma or copolymers.

(3) The casting system of lost foam casting steel castings is designed as a hollow structure, and the lost foam casting steel castings with simple structure are designed as a hollow structure at the appropriate position.
