Requirements for raw and auxiliary materials of silica sol rapid shelling in investment casting

The rapid shell-making process described in the standard has no special requirements for investment casting refractory, wax, other surfactants, defoamers and other shell-making auxiliary materials.

In order to promote the management progress of production enterprises in the industry, this standard, according to the actual situation, provides some key indicators of key raw and auxiliary materials such as mold materials, adhesives, refractories, etc. with the agreed prompt of incoming inspection. It is required that both filled mold and unfilled mold can be applied to the rapid shell-making process described in this standard, but its softening point, linear shrinkage, ash content and other indicators should meet the process requirements; Both quick-drying silica sol and ordinary alkaline silica sol of the finished product can be applied to the standard process, but the SiO2 content, average particle size and other indicators of silica sol should meet the process requirements.

The standard has no restriction on the type of refractory materials. The sand powder used for rapid shell making can be kaolin clinker, fused white corundum, zircon, bauxite, quartz, etc., but its particle size and main chemical composition content should meet the process quality requirements, which is convenient for the investment casting industry to unify the particle size of refractory materials, and also for the production control of refractory suppliers. This standard has standardized and unified the particle size of refractory materials with different shell making layers.
