For the calculation and Simulation of the temperature field of sand casting, the following takes the large casting thrust bearing seat of Shanghai Hudong Shipyard as an example. The casting weight is 25 tons. The design of casting process and grid division and assembly are shown in Figure 1. The part shown in red is the insulation riser sleeve, and the rest are sand castings.
Initial temperature: 1500 ℃; Ambient temperature: 25 ℃; Calculation termination condition: full solidification.
The calculated solidification process is shown in Figure 2.
It can be seen from the above temperature field change diagram that during the solidification process of this sand casting, the edges and corners solidify first. Due to the function of four risers with thermal insulation risers, the solidification lags behind relatively. The whole solidification is pushed to the central large riser, and finally all solidification.
