Ultrasonic flaw detection of cast steel joints

After visual and magnetic particle flaw detection of cast steel joints, ultrasonic flaw detection shall be further carried out. Ultrasonic nondestructive testing results of 24 cast steel joints for civil engineering structures.

A total of 36 casting defects were found in the ultrasonic flaw detection of 24 cast steel joints, and the average number of defects per cast steel joint was 1.50. Among the 36 casting defects, there were 8 inclusion defects, accounting for 22.22% of all casting defects, 2 shrinkage defects, accounting for 5.56% of all casting defects, 19 porosity defects, accounting for 52.78% of all casting defects, and 5 shrinkage defects, accounting for 13.89% of all casting defects, There are 2 delamination defects, accounting for 5.56% of all casting defects, which shows that air hole defects in cast steel joints are the main casting defects, and the probability of delamination defects is low.
