In recent years, there are four hot spots in the research of lost foam casting technology in Europe and North America:
1) Reduce or eliminate the defects of lost foam casting of aluminum alloy. Carbon inclusions are transferred to non important positions in the cavity by various methods to reduce or eliminate lost foam casting defects. The specific methods include improving the fluidity and coating permeability of aluminum alloy, changing the process method and so on.
2) Foam mold and white mold making technology of lost foam casting. It is mainly reflected in the CAD / CAE / CAM technology of foaming mold and the bonding process of multiple molds.
3) Numerical simulation and rapid prototyping technology of lost foam casting. It is mainly reflected in the use of numerical simulation technology to simulate the foaming process in the foam mold, so as to guide the design and manufacture of foam mold; Through numerical control machining technology and rapid prototyping technology, the design cycle of foaming mold and the production cycle of EPS foam pattern are shortened. The flow field and temperature field of lost foam casting mold filling and solidification process are simulated.
