In view of the conclusion that the fine grain size of molding sand can effectively prevent sand sticking, when the company solved the sand sticking problem of the cylinder seat sand casting products produced by the new production line DISA240C, it could not effectively solve the problem by increasing the amount of pulverized coal added to increase the burning loss of molding sand. It took measures to increase the average fineness of molding sand AFS, adding 100/200 mesh silica sand for 20 consecutive days, and completing the AFS value improvement test of 57 to 62, This measure is effective and feasible to reduce the sand sticking defects of cylinder seat castings.

The sand castings of the cylinder base in Figure 1 can be packed and shipped by one shot blasting, while the sand castings of the cylinder base in Figure 2 must be transported repeatedly by two shot blasting.

Therefore, the quality of sand castings can be guaranteed by canceling the wet clay sand molding process of pulverized coal and applying it to the industrial production line under the condition that the grain size of sand is fine enough.
