The manufacturing industry of large steel castings is the basic industry of national equipment manufacturing, and its development level is an important symbol to measure a country’s comprehensive national strength. Large steel castings are widely used in power station, petrochemical, metallurgy, shipbuilding and other equipment and equipment manufacturing industries, such as stainless steel main pump body and steam turbine cylinder block in nuclear power equipment, runner, blade, upper crown and lower ring of hydropower unit, cylinder block in thermal power unit, rolling mill frame, roll and large bearing seat in large metallurgical equipment. The manufacture of these large steel castings is directly related to the quality, safety and progress of national key engineering projects, and is of great significance to the national economy and the people’s livelihood.
(1) facing the huge demand in China’s large steel castings in the next 5 ~ 10 years, foreign manufacturers are accelerating R & D and expanding production capacity to strive for China’s market share. Domestic enterprises should seize the opportunity and take positive measures to meet the challenges in the competition.
(2) colleges and universities should closely combine with enterprises, organize joint research projects such as the development of key technologies and equipment for large-scale casting manufacturing, increase investment in scientific research and technological development, and establish a cooperative innovation system based on the combination of production, learning and research.
(3) we should actively digest, absorb and re innovate through the introduction of technology, give full play to the advantageous forces in all aspects, master the key technologies and core technologies in the large-scale equipment manufacturing industry, and strive to improve the manufacturing level of large steel castings in China.
