Casting sand box
When making sand mold, we need to use a frame without bottom, cover and around the sand mold to prevent the real-time outward extrusion of molding sand. This kind of frame is called sand box. The role of the sand box is to facilitate the molding, to facilitate the turnover of the sand mold and the handling of the sand mold. The sand box can fasten the molding sand tamped in it, and its four walls can bear the side pressure of the metal liquid on the molding sand. The sand box is attached with the alignment device when the sand box is closed, the lifting and turning box and the clamping device.
Whether the structure and size of the sand box are reasonable or not is of great significance to obtain high quality castings, improve productivity and reduce labor intensity. When choosing the size of the sandbox, it should be determined according to the size and quantity of the pattern. That is to say, the pattern should have enough sand consumption (the distance between the pattern edge and the inner wall of the sand box). The sand consumption is too small, the pounding is not tight, and the strength of the sand mold is low, which is easy to cause the defects of sand washing and box leakage; if the sand consumption is too large, it will waste manpower and molding sand and reduce productivity. The proper size of the sand box should be determined according to the specific situation.
Casting mold plate
The bottom plate of casting die is a flat plate with smooth working surface. It is used to hold the pattern, sand box and sand mold. The die base plate is usually made of hardwood material. It can also be made of aluminum alloy or cast iron or cast steel.
