Through process optimization, the defects of sand casting are eliminated, It overcomes many process difficulties of sand casting aluminum alloy and improves the quality of sand casting.

The structure and characteristics of sand casting are analyzed, the gating system is designed, and the filling process, solidification process and defect distribution of sand casting are numerically simulated and analyzed by AnyCasting software. According to the simulation results, the parts and causes of defects of sand casting are analyzed. By setting cold iron and riser, By improving the gating system, the defects such as shrinkage porosity and shrinkage cavity are effectively reduced, and the purpose of process optimization is achieved.
