1. Structural characteristics
The structure of the guide rail steel casting is shown in figure, with the following structural features.

(1) The steel casting is a “flat plate” shaped hollow structure with crisscrossed ribs, complex structure and large dimensions, with an overall dimension of 1596 mm × 501 mm × 444 mm, belonging to a typical large frame structure.
(2) The wall thickness of steel castings is uneven, with a minimum wall thickness of 18 mm and a maximum wall thickness of 51 mm.
2. Technical requirements
(1) The traveling surface of the guide rail is not allowed to have any casting defects on the blank, ensuring the accuracy requirements for machining.
(2) During the use of the guide rail, the use surface bears large impact loads and fatigue loads. Steel castings have high requirements for mechanical and fatigue properties. The rest of the steel castings are not allowed to have casting defects that affect the use of the parts. The working performance and use requirements of the guide rail determine that only the casting method can be used.
