On the whole, the academic research in the field of foundry in China is not backward. Many research results are at the international advanced level, but few are transformed into real productivity. The domestic foundry production technology is limited to a few backbone enterprises. The overall technical level of the industry is backward, the casting quality is low, the consumption of materials and energy is high, the economic benefit is poor, the working conditions are poor and the pollution is serious. However, at the same time, some progress has been made in casting alloy materials, melting and computer application, which is specifically reflected in:
(1) Raw sand processing
In the 1980s,put forward higher requirements for the performance of natural silica sand, and natural silica sand processing technologies such as water washing, scrubbing and floating washing appeared, forming an annual capacity of one million tons.
(2) Mold coating
Basically solve the water-based and alcohol-based coatings for cast iron and steel castings, and successfully develop special coatings for V-method molding, metal mold, cast pipe and EPC.
(3) Casting process
Sand casting adopts advanced production equipment and advanced manufacturing technology, and special casting, continuous casting, continuous casting and rolling processes have been applied one after another. China has built 50 kinds of molding lines and core making lines, including high-pressure molding, electrical dynamic microseismic compaction, box free injection molding, resin sand, air impact molding, metal mold sand coating, V-method molding,, etc.
