Experimental verification of performance of newly designed cast exhaust manifold

In order to better verify the performance of the designed exhaust manifold, the exhaust manifold performance test is carried out, and the results are observed, which can intuitively understand the influence of exhaust manifold form and process on the performance of gasoline engine. In the process of the test, in order to restore the real operation situation, the new exhaust manifold was made. After manufacturing, these samples are installed to test the external characteristics of the engine. The back pressure of the exhaust system is 60kpa, and the pressure of the intake system is 2.0kpa.

The main material of the exhaust manifold is stainless steel, which is lighter in quality and thinner in pipe wall. The wall thickness of the exhaust manifold is 1.2mm, which can effectively ensure the air circulation. At the same time, the bending process is mainly used in the design process. In addition, the welding process after stamping is applied in the position where the branch pipe meets. The length of the combined four branch pipes is increased, which makes the air flow buffer space in the branch pipe larger and makes better use of the exhaust pulse principle.

In the actual operation process, the implementation of the intake process, can achieve a large intake, effectively improve the charging efficiency. Moreover, through the optimization of the exhaust manifold process, the interference degree is minimized, the exhaust interference between the cylinders is effectively overcome, and the overall efficiency of the generator operation is maximized, so as to optimize the overall performance of the gasoline engine. In general, the optimization of exhaust manifold form and processing technology will have a direct impact on the performance of gasoline engine.
