The inclusion of reducer housing is related to the process characteristics of lost foam casting nodular cast iron, which can not be completely eliminated. Only process means can be used to solve the inclusion defect. According to the inclusion of lost foam casting nodular cast iron reducer housing and the actual processing, most of the inclusion of lost foam casting nodular cast iron reducer housing also appears on the upper end face of the casting. In order to determine the inclusion depth, the experiment is carried out. The results show that the inclusion depth at the end face of the reducer housing made of nodular cast iron in lost foam casting is no more than 8 mm.
According to the test results, an additional 4 mm allowance is added to the original allowance of the lost foam casting nodular cast iron reducer housing, and the final end face design process allowance is 8 mm. Through mass production verification, the processing data of lost foam casting nodular cast iron reducer housing are statistically analyzed. The finished product rate of lost foam casting nodular cast iron reducer shell casting was 88% before improvement, and the processed finished product rate of lost foam casting nodular cast iron reducer shell increased to 97.96% (as shown in the figure), indicating that the process of increasing the residual of lost foam casting nodular cast iron reducer shell can effectively solve the inclusion defects on the end face of reducer shell.
