Advantages of steel castings

Cast steel is the steel used to make cast iron. In the case of high casting production intensity and insufficient supply of iron materials for casting production, cast iron production cannot meet the actual production needs of parts. At this time, cast steel production technology can be applied according to the actual needs. However, the fluidity of molten steel required for the production of cast iron parts is poor compared with that required for the production of cast iron parts. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the thickness and shape of cast iron in the process of pouring. By controlling the upper limit of silicon content, the fluidity of molten steel can be effectively improved. According to the type and application, steel castings can be divided into four important types: general purpose steel castings, welded cast iron, stainless steel and heat-resistant castings.

2) The metal manufacturing level used in the production of steel castings is high, and the steel castings have strong adaptability and compatibility, and the appropriate chemicals and tissue regulators can be selected according to the needs of various projects to meet the needs of production. The mechanical properties and serviceability of steel castings can be brought into full play through appropriate heating treatment process, and they have excellent weldability and machinability.

3) The overall structure of steel castings is solid, which provides convenient conditions for their production and manufacturing. Combined with the advantages of light structure and fast delivery, cast steel materials have advantages in price and economy.

4) The upper and lower limits of the weight of steel castings vary greatly in the production process. The smaller size can be used to manufacture precision parts weighing only 10 g, while the large volume steel castings can weigh dozens or even hundreds of tons, which has higher requirements for the production and manufacturing process of steel castings.
